Recyclable artificial grass

The challenge
Artificial grass fields pollute the environment with broadcast granules and worn-out grass fibres that are not recyclable. Until recently, this resulted a piling up of worn fields on a mass scale. This has to change. Can we develop high-quality, recyclable artificial grass fields?

This is what we do
Senbis is a specialist in biodegradable fibres. You can make artificial grass from these fibres. Senbis joined us in the call to develop a recyclable artificial grass field.

Where we stand now
On 24 September 2022, the world's first biodegradable artificial grass field was presented in Emmen. Football club EHS’85 had the honour. This 1,000 m2 training field is comprised of biodegradable artificial grass and filling granules. When the field has been worn out, it can be recycled or composted.
