Regional hydrogen production
Swipe to start
The challenge
We want to make hydrogen with the help of green energy, such as wind turbines and solar panels. Without CO2 being released during production.

This is what we do
Much pure, fresh water is needed for the mass production of hydrogen. We are searching for alternative to this, such as seawater, waste water as raw material for the hydrogen. Or by way of plasma technology, in which waste is used as raw material for hydrogen. We are training people who know how to work with this.

Where we stand now
We are building test facilities and setting up a knowledge network. We do this together with the Centre of Expertise Water in Leeuwarden, the hydrogen industry practicum of Drenthe College and the network of hydrogen parties. This is how we contribute to the expansion of the Northern Netherlands hydrogen chain.

What’s next?
We are building test facilities in Emmen and other locations in the Northern Netherlands. We will carry out the first tests in which we use the hydrogen produced in the energy-intensive industrial sector in Emmen, among others.
