Afgelopen maandag stond in het teken van zorgtechnologie bij Greenwise Campus! Samen met zorgprofessionals en ondernemers hebben we onder leiding van Lieke Brons (practor Zorg&Technologie) en Job van 't Veer (lector Digitale Innovatie in Zorg&Welzijn) gesproken over de rol van onderzoek en onderwijs in de zorg- en welzijnssector in relatie tot de vragen die spelen in het werkveld.

Tijdens de bijeenkomst is verkend hoe Greenwise Campus binnen Zuid-Oost Drenthe een rol kan spelen met een sterke nadruk op samenwerking met initiatieven zoals TZA Drenthe - Groningen (Technologie & Zorg Academie) en Anders Werken in de Zorg-Drenthe.

The Executive Council of the Province of Drenthe is making a €6 million grant available to the Greenwise Campus Foundation for the realization of Greenwise Campus in Emmen. In 2021, Provincial States decided to reserve the amount of €6 million from the Investment Agenda. That amount will now be made available.

Last week, Vincent Voet was inaugurated as lecturer in Circular Plastics at NHL Stenden University of Applied Sciences. He was named a 'rising star' by the trade magazine ACS Media in 2022. During his inauguration, Vincent once again showed why he more than deserved that title after all.

In the week of 14-17 November, Chemport Europe and Greenwise Circular Plastics are organising the Sustainable Innovation Week. Four full days featuring scientists, politicians, entrepreneurs, start-ups and students coming together during an inspiring programme. They will explore the developments and opportunities in green chemistry and circular plastics. During the week, the focus will be on getting acquainted, innovations and knowledge sharing.

On Monday, Robbert Dijkgraaf made a working visit to Emmen and the Greenwise Campus that is being developed. The outgoing Minister of Education, Culture and Science wants more collaboration between the educational levels by working on continuous curricular strands. Emmen puts this into practice and is therefore a frontrunner; the Minister has also recognised this. During his working visit, Drenthe College, the municipality of Emmen and NHL Stenden provided the Minister with some insight into the developments.

The Groningen Engineering Center of the University of Groningen has awarded Dr Chongnan Ye with the Best Engineering Thesis Award of the year. Dr Ye's thesis, "Design of sustainable polymer networks for advanced applications based on dynamic covalent bonds", was chosen because of the unique scientific impact, long-term relevance for society and its interdisciplinary relations.

This week, the Municipal Executive of the municipality of Emmen has made a proposed decision in regard to the acquisition of the CIS Campus Emmen B.V. With the acquisition, the municipality of Emmen will have, among others, the location of the former bus depot on Dordestraat in Emmen in their hands. The intention here is build an innovation centre of the Greenwise Campus where education and business community can work together on green and smart solutions in the areas of green chemistry, energy transition, manufacturing and health care & welfare.
